we previously owned the samsung 28 cu. ft french door fridge and it went out after many years of great use. we went with this one because of the water/ice dispenser and were so disappointed because the design of the inside is simply awful! it is not deep and because of the awkward shelf placement, you can only put gallons of milk in the fridge if you remove one of the shelves, leaving no room at all inside. shelves around icemaker are useless and small. do not buy this one, the layout is not user friendly at all.

this is the worst over-priced appliance we've ever purchaed. twice per week we have to use a blow dryer to defrost the frozen, non-working ice maker. the refrigerator constantly makes a dinging sound, the flex panel on the drink drawer cannot be used at all nor can it be reset. it does not work. this overpriced refrigerator is nothing but problems. appliance repairmen find out what type of refrigerator we have then tell us to just junk it & replace it because this make and model is nothing but constant problems.

i really like this refrigerator. it was a breeze to set up the water system and i like the simplicity of the controls. the only thing that keeps me from giving it a 5 star is the shelves. be prepared - it is darn near impossible to clean the glass shelves. we checked youtube and there was a video explaining the process of popping out the clips so you can lift the glass...yea - not an easy thing to do and doesn't even appear to work on ours - so some food liquid is permanently stuck between the shelf and the glass....gross! this, in our opinion , is a major design flaw with the shelves. otherwise - we really like it.

purchased this expecting the quality of the high end samsung tv's in our house and boy were we disappointed. ice maker froze up and quit working about 2 months in. samsung sent someone out immediately who did a replacement and told us it wouldn't last and he was right. now that we are just out of warranty our ice maker has failed regularly and the solution is pay more money to fix a year old appliance or scrap it and go with another brand. if you're in the market, just google samsung ice maker and you'll stay far away!

i love the flexibility of this machine - plenty of storage and seemingly well-built. however, the noisy horrible sometimes not working icemaker is a deal breaker. very slow to fill cups - often quits working - and very noisy. must be something that can be done to improve on this. this fridge is not cheap and should have a better ice maker. when i asked for warranty service on the ice maker - was told it was only covered for a year and would cost $300 just to have an appliance place look at it... c'mon man!

Good product - Taken some steps backward

owned for 3 weeks. 1. shelves are not l - r interchangeable anymore. 2. freezer temperature is wrong and has a wide variance. we have validated this with digital thermometers. the freezer is set to -4 (f). the temp of the freezer rarely touches -4 and often sits at 0, maxing out around 15 when the freezer has not been opened for 24h. the control board has been replaced. the problem persists. the temp reads 34 (refrigerator) -4 (freezer).

the ice maker is absolute trash. 6 months after owning, it froze up. we would thaw it out and it would last another 2-3 months... we tried leveling it differently and the issue repeated in another 3 months. just enough time for the warranty to expire. i understand the frustrations that i have with my samsung counter depth 4-door french door refrigerator with flexzone drawer and i do not want this thing anymore. please come take it! the only money i'm going to spend on this unit will be the removal fee when my <better brand> is delivered... don't bother opening a ticket and sending / charging me for a service tech. (fun fact, the service tech will just tell you to get a different brand...)

i loved my white french door 2 drawer fridge so much, when we decided to upgrade our entire appliance package we chose the same style in fingerprint less stainless. i am quite disappointed, the interior has one main light, my older model had side and crisper lights, samsung is starting to produce a cheaper product. my main anger is they have the attachments for the bottom freezer small clear shelf but no longer put it in their models, i loved that shelf and truly miss it.

The Ice Maker is Terrible!

the refrigerator is less than two years old and the ice maker is already broken. for the last year the ice maker would melt the ice that was in it and then it would refreeze and be a solid chunk of ice. then i would have to chip it out with a long screwdriver. now the ice maker has quit working all together. when i tried to schedule a repair technician through the samsung website i received a message that there were no repair technicians in my area.

a part of my wife's dream,this refrigerator is beautiful and very efficient. it has a very low noise work, it has a big refrigerator, a big freezer with an internal extra drawer and between both there are a very useful drawer called flexzone with an intermediate temperature,nice for beers, sodas, cheese,etc. no leaks from water/ice compartment (very common in others brands). easy access to all parts due to its big doors and drawers. alarm for door open. a very useful app to refrigerator control using samsung smartthings via internet.

I don't hate this fridge

i think this refrigerator looks nice, has a decent amount of space and works well. we did have issues with the ice maker, but it was fixed.my biggest complaint is cleaning the bottom shelf in the fridge itself! if (and with a family it happens more often than not) something spills i have to empty the entire refrigerator, have my husband help remove the bottom shelf and the glass, then wash everything. otherwise the spill is stuck between the plastic shelf and the glass. i feel like i should be able to clean it up much easier than that! it's an all day project! whoever designed this should have to come clean my refrigerator once a week! i'll never buy another refrigerator with this design again!

Great Frig could Be a Five Star

this is a great frigerator, there is a lot of room and the deli shelf is wonderful. it has a great look and is easy to take care of. the finger resistant exterior is easy to keep clean. the glass shelfs are adjustable and easy to clean. but if your not careful small items will fall off the back because the shelfs dont go all the way to the wall ?the two things that would make it a five star frig is that the shelves on the door are not adjustable at all! the large area were you would put a gallion of milk is nice but it would be nicer if it were enclosed to keep the milk colder. the most negitive aspect about this frigerator is the ice maker is small and as if that wasn't bad enough it is slow. this could of been a great refrigerator with some minor tweaks

this refrigerator has everything you don't want - it's noisy, faulty, and a waste of money. noisy - the designers figured out how to make the loudest refrigerator i have had the displeasure of listening to. middle of the night - loud dump. the motor is moving the ice - wakes you up from sleep. faulty - the water leaks from the water dispenser. the ice continues to fall after you pull the glass away. the fridge is not efficient. waste of money - for the price, you would imagine more modern technology. nope. just a terrible product

the ice maker freezes in place inside the ice maker compartment. this first happened within 6 months of operation. it has now happened several more times and now has to be taken out every week and the ice buildup has to be manually cleaned out. samsungs service number and staff are a joke and no help. the extended warranty company contract service repair company is too. this is a terrible product and no one should by this. samsung needs to engineer a solution and send out competent repair people to replace the unit. or send everyone a new refrigerator.

we purchased this refrigerator in december 2019. the salesman let us know that there had been a problem in the past with the samsung ice makers but that the problems had apparently been corrected. in the time that we have owned this fridge, we have had the icemaker freeze up at least 5x. most times we have been able to remove the ice container and resolve the issue, but this most recent time we are not able to remove it and neither was the tech that came out. the tech has had to order all new parts for the ice maker and the water filter area to try and resolve the problem. if we are already having these problems right at a year since purchase, what will the future of the refrigerator be like?

pros: • sleek styling, inside and out • love the flexzone drawer, no noticeable loss of space • the icemaker works great, rarely any of the scraping, chunks of small, chopped up ice our previous two models always did. sure, it's still the half-moon shape that i, meh, don't prefer, but at least i don't have to keep dumping my glass and starting over, trying to get all whole cubes. • very user friendly controls. • stable temperatures. cons: • it won't clean house or cook supper. ie, no complaints :)

No water drip tray

so we got this new refrigerator and was all excited till we noticed no water drip tray for the water/ice dispenser! our fridge looks unfinished and water drips down the front if you're not careful. i totally hate the look and even called costco complaining thinking, they forgot to include it in the package! this is an apparent design, more like design flaw! i hate it and wish i could find one that would sit in its place and most importantly catch any water or last bits of ice that have fallen, now it just falls on my floor if not careful. if i had of know that it does not come with it, i would have not purchased this refrigerator. poor design and very cheap!

Ice release flap has broken twice

we bought this fridge because it looked sleek and well made at the store. the french doors are convenient and the flexzone drawer is a nice feature to have so we can keep snacks in an area our kids can easily reach. the main drawback is that the little flap/door that opens when you get ice has broken twice within a 6 month period. the flap continually opens and closes 24 hours a day when it breaks and it requires a whole need refrigerator door. we thought after replacing the door the first time we would no longer run into any issues, but the problem resurfaced on the door within 3-4 months of being replaced. this makes me concerned about qc on samsung appliances in general if getting replacement parts does not truly resolve an issue.

I purchased this refrigerator in April after my previous Samsung's cooling system failed. While I was recommended not to purchase another Samsung, as there are issues with its cooling system, I needed a fridge ASAP and this was my best in-stock option. It is essentially the same as my other fridge less the in-door sparkling water dispenser. However, it is now November, and the dispenser flap keeps opening and closing, which has caused my fridge's sensors to go haywire along with now having no ice or water. Called customer service, and there are no available techs in my area. So while they are now providing a full refund (after multiple calls and waiting to get ahold of service reps), I have to go through the hassle of finding a new fridge and having it delivered and installed. I like the look and design of Samsung over the other brands, but their quality is seriously lacking.

Want to love this refrigerator

we had previously purchased a similar model for a condo & loved it. expecting this to be similar, we've had some disappointments. before i get to those, this refrigerator is gorgeous! immense capacity & we love the flex-drawer. most every aspect of this refrigerator is solid. except: 1) the water dispenser is really slow; almost a minute to get a 14oz glass of water. 2) the bottom shelf is super hard to remove and clean; massive design fail, imo. furthermore, there is no official guidance for doing so. i had to find a youtube video showing how. it is ridiculously convoluted. 3) having removed the bottom shelf assembly to remove and clean under the glass, the last time we did it, it shattered. this has led to a 3 day, multi-hour search for a replacement.

WORST PRODUCT I'VE EVER PURCHASED

I purchased the Samsung RF28R7201 on March 27, 2020 and it broke down on October 3, 2020. My Family which includes me, my gf and 4 kids were without milk,eggs,ice cream, yogurt,lunch meat,frozen foods,etc from 10/3/2020 to 11/13/2020 and we still have not received our refund money from Samsung that was suppose to be direct deposited for us to buy a new fridge but it was sent via check and we were forced to use our own funds to purchase a new fridge after the fridge we purchased did not last 6 months. Luckily we had enough to purchase a fridge as we would still be without a fridge to this day and not even have a fridge for thanksgivings next week as it takes time to purchase and have one delivered. PLEASE AVOID THIS PRODUCT AT ALL COST!

very nice refrigerator. spacious -along with the shelf lift adding more space. the icemaker /water dispensing unit could definitely use a cover. you must ensue that the handles are on tight otherwise they will pop off. if they do pop off, they can easily be reinstalled until a service call is made. my service call was timely, professional and well knowledgeable about all facets of the item.

Dead after less than a year

purchased this fridge in november 2019. we started having problems in july 2020, samsung sent a tech and a repair was made. a month later and our fridge was failing to hold a temperature lower than 50 degrees. samsung sent another tech, more troubleshooting, and the samsung tech and phone support couldn't figure it out. they sent the issue to "engineering" with a promise to return in a week. they returned, replaced parts, and it still didn't resolve it. they sent it to "engineering" again. at this point, it has been over a month since i have been able to use the fridge. i called samsung again, and they are refunding my money. the refund of my purchase price is approximately $1200 less than the current selling price of the same exact model today. samsung has said oh well. never again.

Shelf spacing is limited, not tall enough. Many containers must be place on their side to fit shelf spacing. Ice maker is slow to replenish.

Control panel failed 13 months after purchase

bought fridge august 3, 2019. it was delivered august 7, 2019. september 4, 2020 ice machine stopped working. noticed september 6 that the lights on the control panel were blinking. spent 30 minutes on chat support troubleshooting problem and was told a tech needed to come out and that the it would not be covered by the 12 month warranty.
